Ben Armstrong, the prominent personality behind BitBoy Crypto, has allegedly parted ways with the organization, fueling speculation within the crypto community.
As per a screenshot shared by Bitcoin author Jason A. Williams on X, Armstrong’s departure from “Hit Network/BJ Investment Holdings and all its subsidiary brands, including BitBoy Crypto and Around The Blockchain,” is effective immediately.
Armstrong himself confirmed the unexpected development on his personal X account, joinBENCoin, stating,
“TJ Shedd & Justin Williams have attempted a coup at my company… There has been a mutiny at BitBoy Crypto & Hit Network. But it won’t work. They have no leverage.”
This statement recognizes the internal discord within his organization but conveys confidence in maintaining control despite his departure.
The reasons for Armstrong’s departure remain ambiguous, leading to a variety of theories. Crypto scam investigator ZachXBT wondered if this abrupt decision was related to Armstrong’s recent involvement with several ‘questionable’ meme coins. However, a definitive link between the two incidents has not been established.
Armstrong has been widely criticized for endorsing risky investments to casual investors through affiliate links, along with allegations that he sold tokens after promoting them to his audience.
In this tumult of changes, the future of Armstrong’s digital currency, BEN, also raised concerns. Although some followers predicted its demise, Armstrong, in response to a question in a post, promptly refuted any such notions. This statement suggests his ongoing participation in crypto projects despite leaving BitBoy Crypto.
Speculation about a possible investigation involving Armstrong has further fueled the rumor mill. Adam Cochran expressed his expectations for Armstrong’s departure sarcastically, referring to a rumor about an upcoming investigation that might have prompted the abrupt departure.
While Armstrong’s exit has undoubtedly caused a stir in the crypto community, the actual impact on BitBoy Crypto and BEN remains uncertain.
As of press time, the official BitBoy X account has not issued any official statement. Its current pinned post is a promotional one for the crypto betting platform stake.com.
